This is gonna be a total filler/eye candy post, but at least I hope it will be a nice filler. My week has been quite hectic with school, a review I had to do for the local
Time Out and, most important of all, it was me and Danny's anniversary! I'm pretty much amazed by this, considering is my most long-lasting relationship this far and certainly the nicest.

But that's not what I wanted to talk about; for the last 2 days we had a little sunshine (I like to think I summoned it back with my last post) and I remembered these old photos I took before moving to Bucharest some 3 years ago. I still love them and find them very relevant, especially because they encompass the two things I especially love about autumn : the maple leaves and chrysanthemum. The park in Bistrita has a lot of maple trees and I think their leaves get the prettiest colors in autumn. I used to come home with real bouquets of these and just hang them in my room.
Another amazing autumn thing (in Romania at least) are the chrysanthemum; on the 1st of November we celebrate the Day of the Dead, which means that everyone goes to the cemetery and cleans the graves and decorates them with many many flowers. It's quite magical to walk through one the day after, no matter how creepy it might sound. And the prettiest thing is that after mid October you start seeing almost every person on the street carrying bouquets of chrysanthemum. Of course, the custom was more easily observed in Bistrita and Cluj, but it still reverberates here. Also, in Cluj at least, other than chrysanthemum you can see street vendors with fried chest nuts!
Maybe I just became a little melancholic and I feel like going back to Bistrita for a couple of days, even though it snowed(!!) last week. I actually remembered those pictures because that year it snowed in October as well, about one week after i took these! Pretty amazing, huh?

What's funnier is that at the time I took those pictures, I had in mind the
Untitled[Flowers] series by
Fischli/Weiss and when I showed these to one of my uni teachers she stated that the pictures have more to do with fashion editorials than with contemporary art. Now that I use them for my "fashion" blog, I guess she was kinda right in a way.
Yet again, the whole "what is and what is not art" is a very tricky discussion nowadays. So I give you the most beautiful autumn pictures that I have; I do hope I'll be able to catch up with everything and make time for more interesting posts.

I wish you all a wonderful and sunny weekend!
